School Field Trips

The Details:

Program Length: 4 Hours, with 30 minute lunch

Arrival and Departure: Most of our programs run 9:30-2 and can be adjusted based on the required travel time of the group.  Groups are welcome to stay beyond our scheduled end time to play with our discovery centres.  All groups must be departing the farm no later than 2:30

Minimum number of participants: 20 ($240)

Maximum number of participants: 60 (excluding adults)

Mandatory ratio: 1 Adult to 5 Children.  We recommend excluding teachers from the ratio.

Available add ons: Ice cream treats, hot dog lunches (hot dog, juice boxes, seasonal veggies) 

How to book: Complete our field trip booking form.  Once your form has been received we will confirm your date and send a contract.  Your booking is not confirmed until the contract as been returned.

Cancellation:  Notice of cancellation must be provided in writing no later than 7 days prior to your booked field trip.  Notice given with less than 7 days will require payment of our cancelation fee ($200). We are an all weather program, in the event of severe weather please reference our severe weather policy and contact the farm.

Please Note* Siblings or additional children are not welcome to attend with parent supervisors.

Be the Farmer

Program Length: 4 hours

What is included: Participants will go on an in depth tour of the farm to explore our garden and greenhouse, as well as meet our animals.  We will taste fresh veggies, feed animals, learn about garden and animal care and have plenty of time to explore our intentionally developed play opportunities. Teachers receive a pre-trip package with lesson plans, printables and a book list as well as post visit follow up to provide grade level appropriate, curriculum aligned assessments.

Cost: $12/student +GST

Grow With Us

*2 visit field trip*

Program Length: 2 visits, 4 hours/visit

What is included: Participants will explore all the farm has to offer in the spring.  We will meet baby animals, plant seeds in a garden plot assigned to your group, learn about caring for our garden, and explore our intentionally designed discovery centres.  The group will return to the farm in September or October to see how the animals have grown and changed over the season and harvest their garden and share a meal.  Teachers receive a pre-trip package with lesson plans, printables and a book list as well as post visit follow up to provide grade level appropriate, curriculum aligned assessments.

Cost: $12/Student/vist +GST spring and fall visits are invoiced separately.

Field Trip Add Ons

Ice Cream Bike: $2 

Must be pre-ordered as a group, will be billed on the final invoice.

Hot Dog Lunch: $8

Families can order their child a hot dog lunch through our website up until 24 hours before the field trip.  Lunch includes Hot Dog, juice box, and locally grown veggies. 

Classroom Hatching Experience: $150

Host a 7 egg incubator in your classroom and journey with your students from the first day in the incubator to 3 day old chicks.  All resources, lesson plans, printables and required support are included.  You will be able to see where your chicks live once they return to the farm during their field trip! Grow With Us schools are given priority booking for incubators.
