About the Program:

Families on the Farm will be the true heart beat of the farm during the 2023 season.  This program provides you with the opportunity to explore much of what the farm has to offer.  Participants, young and old, will have the opportunity to learn about beekeeping, ethical and sustainable farm practices, preparing farm fresh foods, and engage with farm animals.  The theme of each week will be different guaranteeing a new experience and adventure.  The first and final hour of the program are designed to be self directed, allowing you to arrive and depart on your own schedule.  If it is your first time visiting the farm we highly recommend you participate in our farm tour beginning at 9:15.  There will be formal programming between 10:00 & 11:00, for approximately 30-45 minutes.  Depending on the topic of each week and age groups present we may break into two groups or do back to back sessions to better meet the needs and interests of participants.  

During the unstructured time participants are welcome to explore our mud kitchen, water wall, music wall, building centers, playground, parts of the garden and check out the animals.  The programs will be led by an Alberta certified teacher (check out our About Us page for more details on Suzanne) and are intentionally structured to invite questions and foster curiosity.  

This is a rain or shine program! We are home to a large greenhouse which provides an opportunity to get out of the elements as needed. See our FAQs HERE to find details on how to prepare for your visit to the farm
